Crossboard, when fitted to Rollex, transforms the machine into an excellent soil preparation machine. The tines are controlled from the tractor cab and are capable of carrying and crushing huge volumes of heavy, cloddy soil.

To further enhance the cultivating and crushing effect of the Crossboard, it can be fitted with sharp, hardened steel blades called single-knife. The crust-breaking blades break through the surface pans that readily develop on silty soils after heavy rain.

Crossboard can be locked together with a stabilising rod for cultivation and levelling in extremely hard conditions.

Consolidation

Rollex is available with the option of two different types of consolidation unit. Each of the options allow for slightly different operation of the machine, but both result in a well consolidated seedbed. The rings are constructed from the highest quality materials, ensuring a long and efficient working life.

Crosskill
Crosskill 550mm rings are very popular because they do not only have the same properties as the Cambridge rings, but they also possess a range of additional characteristics such as: they leave a loose and crust-resistant surface, they crush clods efficiently, they are less likely to become clogged with wet soil and they ‘swallow’ light soils much better without leaving a fluffy seedbed.

Cambridge
The conventional 550mm Cambridge rings are best utilised when Rollex is mostly working as a traditional roller i.e. after drilling for pressing down stones and clods etc.

Folding Mechanism

To change between transport and the field work position is strikingly simple and can be effected without the driver having to leave the tractor cab. The transport locks on the rollers are automatically engaged and released during folding and unfolding. The 2.5m transport width allows very safe road transport.

The locks open automatically when the central section of the roller is lowered. During transport, when the central section is raised, the locks engage and prevent accidental unfolding of the roller during reversing.

When in transport position the machine is carried securely on either single 10.0/75x15.3 wheels, providing a very stable ride over all types of terrain

Rubber Suspension

The maintenance-free and practically indestructible rubber suspension absorbs impacts and collisions, which markedly increases the lifetime of bearings, rings and the frame of the entire machine. It is also one of the secrets behind Väderstad’s renowned resistance to stones.

Rubber suspension is used on the packer gang bearings in order to reduce vibration and shock loads, prolonging the lifetime of all components of the machine.

The bearings are designed and manufactured for long life under tough conditions. They have multiple seals and can be easily lubricated for long life in dusty and demanding environments.

The roller axle, which is 55mm in diameter, is manufactured from micro-alloyed steel of very high quality.
