Chlorotoluron - Nufarm have 3 different chlorotoluron formulations. Can they fill the gap left by IPU?

IPU must be used up before the end of June 2009. IPU will be missed. It is one of the most flexible herbicides and controls an array of grassweeds and broad-leaved weeds in the autumn and the spring.

IPU has been valuable weapon for the control of Annual meadow-grass. IPU controlled weeds such as Mayweeds which are controlled by very few actives in the autumn and it has been a valuable contributor to Black-grass control. Options for control of many weeds in winter barley have been reduced with the loss of this product. Is chlorotoluron a suitable replacement for IPU?

The simple answer is yes. Providing the variety is tolerant to chlorotoluron, most of the uses for IPU can be performed well by chlorotoluron
