Belchim was founded in Belgium in 1987 by Mr Dirk Putteman, Managing Director, and became Belchim Benelux after expansion to the Netherlands. It now trades under the name of Belchim Crop Protection (BCP). Year after year, the company has been directing its primary focus towards specialised products and expanding its activities into France, The Netherlands, Germany, The United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Italy and the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Belchim Crop Protection now wishes to continue its focus on new technological developments and, in collaboration with its partners, to keep on developing other innovative products in various areas and on new segments such as bio products.

Currently Belchim’s UK product range is built mainly on that of FMC, including insecticides (e.g. Fury^® 10 EW,  Starion^® FLO,  Talstar^® 80 FLO,…) and herbicides (e.g. Centium^® 360 CS, Shark^®, Aurora^®, Gamit^®…), although some significant additions to the portfolio are expected in the short and medium term future. Two blight fungicides, Epok^® and Ranman^® Twinpack from ISK were added to the UK range during the 2003 season. Teppeki^® and Mainman^® from ISK, two aphicides of the new generation with a novel mode of action, were added to the product portfolio during the 2006 season.

Belchim Crop Protection Ltd. exclusively markets the bio product Contans^® WG, the first bio product for the control of sclerotia in any edible and non-edible crop.
